    • 3 passport photos that meet biometric specifications

    • A letter of admission from a German university

    • Evidence of language proficiency in English and/or German (ONLY if the course is taught in German)
    • Documentation of other academic qualifications, if applicable
    • Proof of financial means to cover living expenses during your studies, which can include one of the following documents:
      • Confirmation of a scholarship or stipend
      • A “Verpflichtungserklärung” (declaration of commitment) from a sponsor residing in Germany

Germany Study Visa Process

  • Apply at least six months before your intended start date.
  • Submit your application to the Akademische Prüfstelle (APS) for academic evaluation.
  • The processing time for the offer letter typically ranges from 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the university.
  • Upon receiving the offer letter, pay one year’s tuition fees.
  • Set aside funds for living expenses, which should be deposited in a Block Account.
  • Purchase travel insurance and health insurance.
  • Apply for a visa online.
  • Submit your visa application form, along with your passport, supporting documents, and 3 passport-sized photographs at the VFS, and complete the biometrics as per your appointment.
